Most folks are still reading 'real' books. But this will slowly transition as ebooks (i.e. books in electronic form) become more popular. For the meantime, picking up a hardcover or paperback book and turning real pages has it emotional rewards. it will be a while before folks feel comfortable curling up with an electronic ereader by the fireplace with a cup of cocoa.

No matter what, I think real books will never be fully extinct. Even Captain Picard in the 24th century (Star Trek the Next Generation), still has real books for pleasure reading, and, his electronic device (Star Trek's version of a Kindle) for technical reading.
